Custom Glock 26
A custom Glock 26 is a handgun many have come to love and use as their daily concealed carry weapon of choice! Before any modifications even take place, an OEM Glock 26 is already perfect in some shooters’ eyes as it has the same texture, feel, and look as a Glock 19, but in a much smaller compact package. The Glock 26 is an excellent compromise offering excellent magazine capacity with easy-to-conceal frame size. However, it is sufficiently large to avoid the common problems with pocket weapons. The G26's barrel length is sufficient for maintaining accuracy while getting some performance out of good ammunition. One of the greatest advantages of the “Baby Glock 9mm” as it is known at times is the fact that it has a double-stack magazine that is compatible with the infamous Glock 17 & 19, and all mags are fully interchangeable with the family of Glocks mentioned. The Glock 26 is the smallest Glock frame and slide size out of all Glock models, with the highest capacity capability of rounds that can use higher count 33-round magazines and 50-round drums for fun range use.
The Glock 26 is a modified version of the Glock 19. The frame underwent extensive re-engineering to make it lighter and more compact. The Glock 26 was specifically designed by Glock engineers for the concealed carry market, and they did a fantastic job. The Glock 26 has a similar history to that of the Glock 17 and Glock 19. The adaptability of the Glock 26 as a concealed carry handgun is enhanced by a number of features because of its shared heritage. However, selecting a sub-compact frame typically necessitates sacrificing the grip. It's no different with the Glock 26 grip; most shooters discover that their little pinky finger has nothing to hold onto.
The solution is in the shared history and the Glock 26's ability to accept and use magazines from Glock 17 and Glock 19. The longer, higher capacity magazines will fit over many aftermarket sleeves, providing the Glock 26 a lot more useful grip surface. Functionality and dependability are two other major issues with compact, lightweight built semi-automatic concealed carry pistols. By modifying the frame, locking block, and spring assembly in addition to introducing a twin recoil spring mechanism, Glock addressed this issue in the Glock 26. These technological advances kept Glock's reputation for dependability and functionality intact.
The Glock 26 is more than just a slimmer, lighter version of the Glock 19. The Glock 26 is a well-engineered and completely redesigned pistol targeted primarily at the concealed carry market, even if it shares some common features and magazines.
A custom Glock 26 is one of the most unique Glocks to own due to the fact that it has all the features we usually go over with other custom Glock models, but that it’s a sub-compact ultra-lightweight handgun. The slide on a custom Glock 26 usually has vented window cuts or lightning cuts that help release extreme heat from rapid firing and other extensive training sessions. The custom Glock 26 barrel will usually be a match-grade barrel that can also be threaded or non-threaded. A match-grade barrel is the most accurate stainless steel-built barrel for Glocks that has internal rifling done to the grooves of the barrel to increase accuracy. A threaded barrel will enable the shooter to use a suppressor to reduce sound or a compensator to reduce recoil.
Finally, the frame of the Glock 26 is what truly makes it shine amongst all the other Glocks. The super small sub-compact frame of the Glock 26 allows shooters to conceal carry with relative ease on a daily basis without much hindrance or annoyance in carrying this weapon. Custom Glock 26 can feature flared mag wells, custom stippling, an extended magazine release lever, an extended slide-release lever, and even an after-market trigger. The custom Glock 26 has everything you need that is found on a custom Glock 19 or 17 as well but comes in a much smaller package.
